Back in July - A little rest needed

The week Breana came home from camp she didn't feel well, whether from exhaustion or the result of being away from the care only a Mother can give. She had a fever and hives. I was so excited to have her back at home - my little playmate - one of the two who buzzes about the house making it a home - but was left to another week of quiet & stillness.
After this particular nap, she wanted freshly squeezed orange juice. Picking oranges was a good way to get her out into the backyard and under the sun. However, I couldn't keep her amused outside, not even Tiger. She shooed him along, which is not like her, and stood under the tree waiting for me to gather a few oranges.
Her favorite comfy clothes since camp has been her Camp Hammer wear which made for a nice hand basket - or neck basket - since climbing up the tree wasn't something she wanted to do that particular day. Hmmm, no monkey today - must really not feel well.
Usually she wants to handle the juicer, too, this time she waited patiently. If I hadn't thought so already, that would have been another indication she wasn't herself!

It proved to be just what she needed for that hour. Instead of crawling under the blanket she sat with the Polly Pockets that I pulled out earlier - a toy she hadn't touched in years (but I keep handy for quiet occasions like this) - and set up a country setting for the equestrian Polly.

The day after this she felt herself again - thank goodness! The Polly Pockets got whisked away to the closet again and off to join Kaitlin at the Tennis Clinic she went!
