On one of our bike rides this summer in Sonoma, Dan & I spent some time in my favorite store on the square. Rows & rows upon shelves & shelves of the best kitchenware/cookware. Some you can definitely live without despite the fact that they are pure eye candy - beautiful enough to leave laying on the counter - others are down right necessities.

This 'palm peeler' was a definite "gotta have!" Also a gadget we found sooo cute it'll lure the kids into the kitchen :D The first day I didn't call attention to myself while I was peeling carrots & potatoes to throw in the crock-pot. I wanted this new toy to myself. No sharing. No questions.
I started in the morning while the girls were at school.

Today was a crock-pot kind of day. It was one of those days where from the moment the girls jump in the vanagon we move from one point to another until we finally are able to rest our feet at home well past a decent dinner making time. Coming home with the aroma of dinner in the air is just heaven to me - especially the smell of a dinner that takes an hour to roast in the oven.
The palm peeler definitely has a different feel to it. You make better contact and it seems to only less passings to complete the peeling. I liked it. The next time I used it the color caught the girls' attention and soon I had the two of them around the potatoes. I think we need to buy 1 more!
Now I have to go back to
'Sign of the Bear' for that
egg poacher!
